Hatfield & Dawson Consulting Engineers

Joseph Overacker

Education: BS Applied Mathematics
University of California, Davis

Amateur Radio License KG6FQC

Mr. Overacker started with the firm in 2018 as a Technical Analyst. Joe grew up around radio, earning his HAM license when he was 13 years old and accompanying his father Steve on visits to radio sites while the latter worked on maintaining a HAM repeater system. After earning his degree in Applied Analytics, Joe worked in math education and analytics, before joining Hatfield & Dawson.

Joe's role as a technical analyst gives him a lot of flexibility. His primary skill set is to help Hatfield & Dawson to speed up the processing, analysis, and visualization of data. He also has skill with working on CAD drawings and has been helpful in performing quality control work on radio system design. Hatfield & Dawson is very happy to have these skill sets.

Joe's favorite part of working for Hatfield & Dawson is that, on occasion, he is able to work on projects with his Dad. Working on a project for Washington State Patrol, the two paired up to visit radio sites and collect field measurements. The two are pictured below.
